Central Illinois Masters Swim Team promotes physical fitness, mental wellbeing, and camaraderie through swimming at all levels.
Due to the increase in COVID-19 positive cases and with the state moving back to tier 3 restrictions, all team practices have been canceled. The information that follows will be retained on this page as we hope to have access to both the IWU and 4 Seasons pools in the future.COVID-19 Update-IWU Pool: The team has approval to use IWU's pool for CIMST practices on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 5:30 - 6:30 a.m. There are COVID-19 restrictions that must be strictly followed. Any non-compliance will result in loss of access to the IWU pool for the entire team:
- The Shirk Center will be locked until 5:15 a.m. and will remain locked during practice.
- CIMST members are to use the back/north entrance by the pool (not Emerson Street) and can wait in your car or at the door with proper social distancing.
- Masks are required to enter the building and pool. They are to be worn at all times except when in the water.
- Forehead temperature will be taken and recorded upon entering the building. Temperatures above 100.3 or symptoms of current illness will not be allowed to swim.
- CIMST members will use the double doors in the lobby to enter the pool and hands must be sanitized before entering (sanitizer provided by the team).
- Locker rooms are not open. Suits should be worn under clothes or warm ups. Bathrooms are available for emergencies and with one person at a time.
- Upon entering the pool, there are pieces of duct tape on the deck for belongings. These are separated to comply with social distancing.
- IWU equipment and towels will not be available.
- All CIMST members must be out of the building by 6:45 a.m.
- A specific IWU COVID-19 Waiver must be read and signed before your first practice. Contact John Carroll (carrolljw123@gmail.com) for copy of waiver.
- Up to 4 people per lane are allowed (32 per practice) starting at each end of the pool and at the flags at each end.
- Space must be reserved for each practice. If you do not reserve a space by 6:00 PM of the day before the practice, you will not be allowed to swim. Here is the link: Practice Reservations
Since it will take several minutes to handle the entrance to the building, practice will be 50 - 55 minutes in length. There will be a "hard" exit from the water at 6:30 a.m. Note that if you arrive at the building after 5:30 a.m., you will not be able to swim that morning.
COVID-19 Update-Four Seasons I Pool: We are renting 4 lanes in the South Pool of 4 Seasons I. Practices will be from 7:15 - 8:15 PM on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Membership in the 4 Seasons Association is not required and as long as your dues to the team are paid, no additional charge will be assessed.
